Easily slide the black toggle forward to lock the seating position or backwards to get into rocking mode. This is an extremely comfortable yet not oversized chair. It snuggles you right in for a comfortable seat. Very well built solid construction comes apart in 2 easy pieces. It is in excellent condition.
