Imperial Jingdezhen Porcelain ‘Beauties of the Red Mansion’

Limited edition plate (1988) from China National Arts & Crafts and master artisan Zhao Huimin. Based on the classic 18th century romance novel ‘A Dream of Red Mansions’ or Hung Lou Meng. This is Tai-Yu, aka Lin Daiyu, seventh plate in the series. She is described as an icon of spirituality and intelligence. An accomplished poet but subject to fits of jealousy. Plate is in excellent condition. Plate measures 8.5” across. Comes in box with the original description documents. The materials used in the plates are decorative and not suitable for serving food.
