Don’t be fooled by the name of this guitar. This is a quality built guitar from the early days of Japan’s guitar manufacturing. It sounds great and plays as well as guitars that I’ve played costing $1000 or more. For sale is a Marlin M450 acoustic guitar made in Japan in the mid to late 1970’s. Not much information is available on Marlin guitars other than Marlin was a brand sold by the T. C. Eaton Company in Canada in the mid to late 1970’s. It was sold through their catalogue division. The Marlin name was also used by the British Music Strings Ltd. Company in the 1980’s early 1990’s for a line of mostly electric guitars and some acoustic guitars. It is likely this guitar was sold through Easton’s in Canada. The guitar is a copy of a Guild D25 or D35. This one has a solid mahogany top back and sides with an unbound rosewood fretboard. X bracing on the inside of the guitar. The body binding is very well done as is the work done around the sound hole. The serial number is 180675 ink stamped on the neck block. Overall condition of the guitar is very good with no structural issues, no cracks or breaks. Some very minor cosmetic scrapes and or scratches. The original pick guard was removed and will come with the guitar. Tuners work well and the guitar stays in tune like it should. Sound quality is very good and the guitar resonates well. Big sound. This is a quality guitar that will sound better as the wood ages. Much better than most guitars in this price range. The guitar comes with a gig bag.
