It has micro scratches that are barely noticable as shown in close up photos. I replaced the original metal back pole (could not locate it to put back on) with a wooden one (painted purple) so it could fit snug against the wall instead of sticking out a bit. But it has held my 30 lb center speaker and gaming consoles on it for years without issue.
